What is Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
Teen Mixed Martial Arts: Mixed martial arts (MMA) is one of the world’s most popular form of martial arts. Over the last 20 years, the UFC has made it an official sport. At Integr8, our MMA system is a hybrid of many martial arts. It means that we include techniques from wrestling, judo, jiu-jitsu, muay thai, kickboxing and more. We also teach grappling, boxing and other forms of wrestling. Our mixed martial arts teaching is based on the Combat Submission Wrestling System pioneered by Paul Erikson – former World Light Heavyweight Shoot-Wrestling Champion.
While we offer the above, we also teach Muay Thai, Karate and Self-Defence. We believe it helps teenagers to develop self-confidence, making new friends, and expand their awareness of what their mind and body are capable of. Our teachings also improve their balance, coordination and awareness levels, as well as their physical fitness, stamina and strength. What Does Training Consist Of?
- Training on a fully matted training area
- Warm up and exercises
- Striking and positioning drills
- Application of locks and holds
- Controlled free sparring (no head contact)
- Stretching and cool down
Do I need to bring any equipment?
- It is recommended that students bring their own gloves to class
What do I need to wear when participating?
- Comfortable sports attire such as track suit , t-shirt , shorts, etc
- Wrestling boots are also recommended but not necessary
Do I have to have a martial arts background to participate?
- No; we will teach you basics progressing to advanced techniques
